Film: Crimson Tide (1995)

DVD: Non-Anamorphic
Crimson Tide

"Yeah, horses are fascinating animals. Dumb as fenceposts but very intuitive. In that way they're not too different from high school girls: they may not have a brain in their head but they do know all the boys want to fuck 'em."

Review: This is one of my favorite movies. An intense showdown between two men who both think they are doing the right thing in a stressful situation. (The correct interpretation of a cut-off transmission that may or may not cancel their earlier order to launch their nuclear missiles)

Gene Hackman and Denzil Washington play their roles perfectly as opposing officers who need all their charisma and powers of persuasion to rally the sailors underneath them to their side of the argument.

"We're here to preserve democracy, not practice it"

4 out of 4 Stars
