Film: Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)

DVD: Enhanced 16x9
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King (Platinum Series Special Extended Edition)

"That's for Frodo! And for the Shire! AND THAT'S FOR MY OLD GAFFER!"

Review: This is the movie where Sam and Pippen finally come into their own, just like in the books. Some people complain about the multiple endings but I dig them, especially when you can watch it at home and your butt isn't as sore from three hours in the theater seats. I also must say that this movie is the one that is most improved by the Extended Edition, adding so many important confrontations that were missing from the theatrical release. Gandalf vs. Sauruman, Gandalf vs. the Witch King and Aragorn vs. the Mouth of Sauron.

Favorite Scene: Pippen's Song

"Well, this is a thing unheard of. An Elf would go underground, where a Dwarf dare not. Oh, I'd never hear the end of it."

"I'm glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee, here at the end of all things."

4 out of 4 Stars - EPIC
